I’m umpiring again after three and a half weeks.

Was supposed to umpire two games today but only did one. The two earlier slots were postponed because of heavy rain. I reached Kallang before four and it was pouring. Waited till time to do the six thirty game. I almost fell today because of the wet floor. Lucky it was just a slight slip.

Went Leisure Park to have dinner and bought myself a new basketball shoe after that. Not exactly what I wanted but it’s quite cheap. Nice?

I’m so bored and lazy.

Whenever I’m at home, I will be so lazy to go out.
Even just to buy food.

And when I’m out, I tend to not want to go home.
Cause it’s just so boring at home.

Contradictions…
Had been busy for the past 3 days.
Coaching, coaching, and more coaching.
Very tiring, but I love it.
Just hope that I can have more consistent training teams to keep me occupied.

I’m back for few days now since Saturday and feeling a bit lazy to update.

Went to NSL final and closing on Saturday. During the march in, I leaded the umpires in. We were playful doing it the other way round. Haha!!! Feel some mix feelings for the U21s team result. Hope she is alright.

About the Sabah trip. It was disappointing, unforgettable, adventures, extraordinary, and definitely was a trip money can’t buy. Many unfortunate encounters throughout the trip. Almost everyday, we have to be under the rain.

First day at Kota Kinabalu, we were caught in the rain after some shopping in the afternoon.

Second day. We went White Water Rafting at Kiulu River. Although it’s only grade 1~2, we had lots of fun. After dinner, we were caught in the rain again.

Third and forth day. Time to go up Mount Kinabalu. We took the longer trail up and I think it’s worth the 2 hours extra climbing with the feast of beautiful scenery. I was the first to reach Laban Rata after climbing for 8 hours. We spent the night there at the altitude of 3270m. The weather turn bad in the middle of the night causes us our chance to reach the summit. The temperature was 6 degree the next morning and with some wind. We climbed up a little to take some photos and it was pretty tough with wind almost swiping us off our feet and the extreme coldness. Our guide told us that temperature at the peak would be subzero then. It was pretty disappointing climbing all the way there and not being able to reach the summit. The journey down took us a little more than 3 hours with the shorter trail. We had lunch then went back to Kota Kinabalu for the night.

Day Five. Journey to Mabul Island. From Kota Kinabalu airport to Tawau, then van to Semporna and boat to Mabul. The boat ride left a bruise on my elbow and aches on my buttocks. We did some snorkelling just outside our cheapo resort in the evening. Tragedy strikes during the night. The boat we took to the Island suffers damages during the storm and need some time to repair. It causes us our trip out to sea for snorkelling the next morning.

Day Six. Couldn’t go out to sea in the morning. After lunch, we went to Sipadan Island. We face rough sea on the journey there. Waves were up to 3 meters high and it only happened during the journey. At the start and end, it was clear. I think we are really a bunch of unlucky peoples.

Day Seven. I woke up early for the sunrise. It was magnificent. And after breakfast, we went to Kapalai Island on a fishing boat. The Island has no land and a Resort was built on the shallow water. Water there are crystal clear and creatures under the sea can be seen so easily there. Just a few minutes after reaching, a storm came. Wind and rain poured so strongly and we were trapped at the Resort. We waited for about an hour for the storm to subside and return to Mabul. No snorkelling again. After lunch, we have to return to the main land. Again, we were on the fishing boat. This time round, there were no storm but the sun was scorching hot. Took us a little more than an hour of sun tanning to reach Semporna. After that, van to Tawau airport and return to Kota Kinabalu for the night.

Last day. Flight back to Senai JB and cab back to Singapore.

Sadness…

I’m thinking a lot on this. Being an umpire. We never were the ones being appreciated. No one will say that you did a good job, give you a pat on the shoulder when you do well, except give you the face, shouting, unwilling ‘thank you umpire’ thing the teams do, and even comment on you just in front when you don’t perform. Hello!!! We are all humans. Mistakes and bad performances are unavoidable. Do you think that I want to umpire badly? Do you think that I don’t want to be good? Do you think that I wouldn’t want a perfect game every time? And why the players can say this and that about umpires and umpire can’t say things about the players??? And don’t you sometimes feel that your coach is not helping with the things he or she says??? It’s same being an umpire. And why do you think not many people want to be an umpire? It’s so much harder being compared to being a good player. Ask yourself, would you be an umpire?
Went TP early to play some basketball today. I was playing alone most of the time. Practicing my shots, moves, and most importantly is my jump shot. I’m very bad at it now. Rhythm is really off, release is low, arm and body strength just couldn’t give it a good one. Will have to put in a lot more work to get it back. Anyway, that’ll have to wait till I’m back from Sabah.

Zenith training after that. Didn’t do much of the drills because was pretty tired after basketball.

Going KotaKinabalu on Saturday. Going to spend a week at Sabah. Hope that it’s a fun trip. Water rafting, Mountain climbing, Snorkelling, Sight seeing, Eating, and Shopping.

Ya! Blame it on the umpire for losing.
You sore loser!!!
Passed by Stadium before I reach Leisure Park today.

Realise this place is really old. But I have never step inside before, and It's going to be torn down soon.

Watched Iron Man at the Leisure Park cinema before training today. It's a two hour show, really worth the money. I'll give it four out of five stars.

It was a fun but tiring training session for the umpires today. And my knees a little sore now. Ouch!!!

What I feel inside today is like the weather.

Gloomy!!!

Woke up late today. Was up at ten and my game was eleven. The rest was a mess. Totally my fault for not getting myself ready enough. It's my last game for NSL and I screw it. WTF!!! Anyway, just have to learn from it. Given the chance again, I'll do better.

After watching the following games, I went to play basketball with my friends. My shots were pretty off too. Got elbowed twice on the jaw today. Now still a bit pain. But overall, I enjoyed playing today. I got to know my teamates better now. And also able to correct some of my bad habits. There are still tons to do before I can really play good basketball, but I'm taking it one step at a time.

Dinner with the guys after that at Newton Hawker was great.
I was the reserve umpire during NSL today. It was a close game between Arowanas and Marlins. Most of the time, Marlins led by only a few goals. Arowanas had a few leadings in third and forth quarter, but Marlins is good in holding on to their lead and keeping their possession and scoring. Marlins won the game in the end. I think Eric and BeeLing did a good job with their umpiring. After the first quarter, Eric told me to standby and get ready to go in because he rolled his ankle. Lucky he managed to carry on till the end. I was not ready actually.

Tomorrow will be my last game for NSL. I should be sleeping now cause I’m umpiring the morning game, but just don’t feel like it yet. Hope I can do a good job tomorrow. And also just relax and enjoy the game!

Today's blue sky.

But look at the hot weather.
Haven’t been posting for a while. Nothing much to talk about for me except netball. And there’s no coaching these few weeks. So, I was umpiring everyday for the past week. I really wish to take a break from umpiring. But looks not likely to happen. Sianzzz......
