I’m back for few days now since Saturday and feeling a bit lazy to update.

Went to NSL final and closing on Saturday. During the march in, I leaded the umpires in. We were playful doing it the other way round. Haha!!! Feel some mix feelings for the U21s team result. Hope she is alright.

About the Sabah trip. It was disappointing, unforgettable, adventures, extraordinary, and definitely was a trip money can’t buy. Many unfortunate encounters throughout the trip. Almost everyday, we have to be under the rain.

First day at Kota Kinabalu, we were caught in the rain after some shopping in the afternoon.

Second day. We went White Water Rafting at Kiulu River. Although it’s only grade 1~2, we had lots of fun. After dinner, we were caught in the rain again.

Third and forth day. Time to go up Mount Kinabalu. We took the longer trail up and I think it’s worth the 2 hours extra climbing with the feast of beautiful scenery. I was the first to reach Laban Rata after climbing for 8 hours. We spent the night there at the altitude of 3270m. The weather turn bad in the middle of the night causes us our chance to reach the summit. The temperature was 6 degree the next morning and with some wind. We climbed up a little to take some photos and it was pretty tough with wind almost swiping us off our feet and the extreme coldness. Our guide told us that temperature at the peak would be subzero then. It was pretty disappointing climbing all the way there and not being able to reach the summit. The journey down took us a little more than 3 hours with the shorter trail. We had lunch then went back to Kota Kinabalu for the night.

Day Five. Journey to Mabul Island. From Kota Kinabalu airport to Tawau, then van to Semporna and boat to Mabul. The boat ride left a bruise on my elbow and aches on my buttocks. We did some snorkelling just outside our cheapo resort in the evening. Tragedy strikes during the night. The boat we took to the Island suffers damages during the storm and need some time to repair. It causes us our trip out to sea for snorkelling the next morning.

Day Six. Couldn’t go out to sea in the morning. After lunch, we went to Sipadan Island. We face rough sea on the journey there. Waves were up to 3 meters high and it only happened during the journey. At the start and end, it was clear. I think we are really a bunch of unlucky peoples.

Day Seven. I woke up early for the sunrise. It was magnificent. And after breakfast, we went to Kapalai Island on a fishing boat. The Island has no land and a Resort was built on the shallow water. Water there are crystal clear and creatures under the sea can be seen so easily there. Just a few minutes after reaching, a storm came. Wind and rain poured so strongly and we were trapped at the Resort. We waited for about an hour for the storm to subside and return to Mabul. No snorkelling again. After lunch, we have to return to the main land. Again, we were on the fishing boat. This time round, there were no storm but the sun was scorching hot. Took us a little more than an hour of sun tanning to reach Semporna. After that, van to Tawau airport and return to Kota Kinabalu for the night.

Last day. Flight back to Senai JB and cab back to Singapore.
